RetireZest was founded in 2025 by Juan Clavier, a project manager with over 20 years of experience delivering financial and technology projects. After helping his own family navigate the complexity of Canadian retirement planning — CPP timing, RRIF minimums, OAS clawback thresholds, corporate drawdown strategies — he built the tool he wished existed.
The simulation engine is built on Canada's actual tax code: 2026 federal and provincial brackets, CRA-prescribed RRIF factors, official CPP/OAS rates, and GIS benefit formulas. Every calculation is validated against CRA publications and cross-checked with professional financial planners.
